Compass Birmingham MHST got off to a great start to the New Year by growing its team.

New staff were welcomed with a three-day induction, ending at the Lea Marston Hotel on 4th January. The staff joined new starters from Coventry and Derby team where they were welcomed by the senior leadership team, including Rachel Bundock, Chief Executive Officer, who provided great insight into the history of Compass and her own personal journey leading up to joining the charity.

Amrick Singh, Service Manager, said: “ I feel the induction event was a success. The new trainees were upbeat when they returned on the second day, and stated they had felt good leaving on the first day.

“The personal story from the CEO at the corporate induction made a corporate situation much more intimate and empathetic.

“Following the induction, the new staff will be completing their mandatory training face to face and online, along with their induction booklets over the next few weeks. They will also start their EMHP university course and begin their paths to becoming qualified practitioners.”

New starters enjoyed getting to know each other.

Latisha Sidhu, Healthy Peer Relationship Practitioner said: “The induction allowed me to settle into my role, as well as feeling like I was part of a family and I was able to develop and form new relationships.

All managers, supervisors and colleagues were very informative and also helped by proving information which was required and answering any questions. I am truly excited to start my new job role and continue to watch myself develop and grow.”

The staff are now equipped with their laptops and mobile phones and have received information to enable them to successfully carry out their roles.
