Compass staff invited to join online event with teachers

Published on: November 16, 2022

Staff in Compass are being invited to join a once a term webinar which is being run by Positive Effect for Senior Mental Health Leads in schools.

Rose Kearns, Business Development Assistant Director, said: “Positive Effect would like to extend the invitation to this Community in Practice MS Teams event to anyone involved in Compass MHSTs or those that are supporting settings to develop a whole school approach.”

Positive Effect hosts the termly events for all SMHLs that have completed our Department for Education funded training. The agenda is guided by topics raised by delegates during their training.

In the upcoming event on 7th December, Positive Effect course consultant Adam Billson will run a 30-minute deep dive on how to embed the eight principles of the whole school approach within school policies.

And our Training Officer Danielle Grant will focus on ‘Work-life Balance’. She will look at the challenges of time management and the impact of a poor work-life balance. There will also be useful tips on how to improve work-life balance and overall wellbeing.

Rose said: “We listen to what our training delegates say and make sure we tailor our follow up work to address their queries and concerns. This is done in our post-course one to one sessions but also in our online Community in Practice.”

And she added: “We believe that by also inviting our frontline MHST colleagues – who work in schools – all will benefit not only from the lessons learnt from the speakers but by hearing different perspectives.”

Please RSVP to DFE@compass-uk.org and we’ll send you the invitation.
