Compass BUZZ Training Webinars

For the last three years Compass BUZZ have successfully delivered free mental health and wellbeing training to schools and other key partner organisations across North Yorkshire; training in excess of 10,000 people. We have now developed all our training packages to be delivered online via webinar live sessions. Our five mental health and wellbeing training packages are as follows:

  • Level 1 Training – Prevention and Promotion
  • Level 2 Training – Early Identification of Need
  • Level 3 Training – Early Help and Intervention
  • Pupil Wellbeing Champions Programme (primary schools)
  • Student Wellbeing Champions Programme (secondary schools and FE colleges)

Student Wellbeing Champions Training (for Secondary Schools) This training has been developed to enable our colleagues in education to prepare for the introduction of a student wellbeing programme and their school and to feel confident in how to support and train the student wellbeing champions in order to ensure sustainability for the programme.
The ideal candidate for the student wellbeing champions training will be the person / people who will be the coordinator/s in you school and who will be accountable and responsible for the wellbeing champion programme.

The training shop and provided resources will:
Help you to establish and embed a student wellbeing champion programme in your setting
Support you in identifying key roles and responsibilities

Compass BUZZ Level 2 & 3 Combined Refresher Training The Level 2 and 3 combined refresher course covers key elements of Early Identification of Need and Early Help and Intervention as a refresher. This will enable staff to review the training provided to ensure that all school staff have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to understand emotions, identify common mental health problems and to deliver early help and intervention to a child or young person with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
Delegates must have completed the full Level 2 and Level 3 – Early Identification of Need and Early Help and Intervention to be accepted onto this refresher course.

Compass BUZZ Level 3 Training - Early Help & Intervention For staff who have received our Level 2 training and will be delivering intervention within their educational establishment.
Our level 3 training will offer the following:
Information on how to make a basic assessment
Knowledge of therapeutic skills
Awareness of three evidence based approaches
Advice on how schools/college’s can help support their pupils

The confidence and skills to deliver evidence based interventions
The understanding of north Yorkshire service that can help support and how to refer into these

Pupil Wellbeing Champions Training (for Primary Schools) The Pupil Wellbeing Champions training has been developed to enable colleagues in primary school education in North Yorkshire to prepare for the introduction of a pupil wellbeing programme in their school. It is designed to ensure that school staff feel confident in how to train and support pupil wellbeing champions in order to ensure sustainability of the programme.
The ideal candidate for the primary wellbeing champions training will be the person / people who will be the coordinator/s in you school and who will be accountable and responsible for the wellbeing champion programme.

The staff workshop and provided resources will:
Help you to establish and embed a pupil wellbeing champion programme in your setting
Support you in identifying key roles and responsibilities
Provide support and guidance on managing issues around confidentiality and safeguarding
Promote wellbeing awareness at individual/population level
Provide top tips to introducing a pupil wellbeing champion programme
