We have an exciting opportunity for a Young People’s Substance Misuse Worker to join Compass Harrow.
Compass Harrow provides a range of specialist interventions and vital support for children and young people across the borough of Harrow.
About the role
As a Young People’s Substance Misuse Worker, your role will be to engage with and market the benefits of recovery to children and young people that have been referred to our service, ensuring they understand and invest in the recovery process.
You will undertake comprehensive assessments and deliver a range of interventions, including: 1-1 and group work; brief psycho-social interventions; specialist harm reduction; family work and care planning. The role will involve partnership working with other lead professionals involved in the care of the young people you are working with.
You will be expected to deliver workshops to professionals and young people and be able to build long term sustainable relationships with key stakeholders, community groups and community leaders across localities within Harrow.
About the person
Experienced in working with young people and individuals with substance misuse issues, you will be skilled in supporting and encouraging individuals to achieve positive changes. You will also be experienced in delivering 1:1 and group work programmes, as well as delivering training to groups.
You will have a creative and dynamic approach to engaging with hard to reach and other vulnerable groups of young people and to developing interventions in response to their needs.
It is essential that you have up-to-date knowledge of legislation relevant to working with children and young people.
Carepath software knowledge is desirable.
