Do you have the experience and drive to ensure that at our Lewisham service we deliver the best possible outcomes for our children and young people?
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and solution-focused Health and Wellbeing Team Leader to join our Lewisham Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Service.
About us
Commissioned by the London Borough of Lewisham and Lewisham CCG, we provide a highly innovative service, delivering a range of evidence-based interventions to young people aged 10-19 (up to 25 for Looked After Children or those leaving care or with SEND) with a focus on emotional health and wellbeing, substance misuse and sexual health.
Our aim is to create an integrated and easily accessible service that enables young people to manage their own health and wellbeing either independently or with support to reduce the likelihood of escalation to specialist services.
The role
As a Team Leader, you will lead on safe and effective delivery of interventions, including pregnancy and STI testing. You will provide group and 1-1 supervision to the skill mix team made up of counsellors, health and wellbeing workers and support workers. You will be the designated safeguarding lead for the service and lead on the outreach provision, supported by the service manager and clinical administrator. You will also support the service manager with day to day operational requirements including resource allocation and safeguarding.
You will provide professional consultation across the wider children and families network across Lewisham, including workforce development training for health promotion.
Working both on an outreach basis and from the clinical base in Catford, you will work closely with partner agencies to ensure equitable service delivery to all young people, in particular those from vulnerable groups.
This post is supported by the organisational senior management team and will require some evening and weekend work.
The person
You will be an individual with experience in sexual health and substance misuse who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people and supporting communities to improve health outcomes for families. You will have experience of managing and supervising staff and providing support to a skill mix team.
You must be able to work agilely as there will be a requirement to travel around the borough.
The Benefits
In return, we offer a range of benefits including:
- Generous annual leave
- Employee Assistance Programme and OH Service
- Excellent Learning & Development opportunities and career progression
- Generous contributory Pension Scheme
