The Compass Harrow Young People’s Service provides targeted and specialist interventions for young people, aged up to 18, who are affected by their own or another’s substance misuse. The service operates on an outreach basis from an administrative base which is shared with the adult treatment service.

A key feature of Compass Young People’s services model is the use of specialist lead roles within teams to build partnerships with partner agencies. Each team member has responsibility for working with agencies to build awareness among and referrals of children from particular vulnerable groups such as Looked After Children, homeless young people or individual’s affected by a parent or carer’s substance misuse.

The service is commissioned as part of a wider integrated Tier 2/3 service for the London Borough of Harrow which is also delivered by Compass. As a result, where required we are able to offer seamless transitional care into the Compass adult service for individuals once they reach eighteen.
