What we do
Compass is a leading national provider of services to tackle problem drug and alcohol use. Each year, we help thousands of people break the cycle of their dependency and release them and their communities from the health, social and criminal justice problems that attend problematic substance misuse.
We provide care that spans all stages of the journey to abstinence, from interventions that focus on the practical and immediate needs of people in chaotic life situations, to support for people to re-enter the social mainstream via employment, housing, education and training. Compass staff understand service users and work hard to give them the confidence and motivation they need to achieve lives free from addiction.
With more than 40 services across the North, Midlands and London, our treatment offer is comprehensive, spanning low level interventions to intensive care, from needle exchange, assertive outreach, drop-in centres offering advice and support, counselling and group work programmes, structured day programmes, tenancy support, employment programmes, specialist services for young people and women to innovative models of community prescribing and shared care.
Our wide range of services provides structured and unstructured programmes for diverse user groups, including young people, BME drug users, crack users, drug using offenders, the homeless and families. Our service users own and take control of care journeys that are ambitious but achievable.
A major factor in the growth of Compass has been our commitment to innovation and quality which has served to build durable partnerships with our Commissioners and contractors. Each Compass service is locally responsive and designed to work in partnership with other agencies, delivering in tandem, the components of a comprehensive and continuous programme of care.
We see ourselves as part of the wider treatment system and constantly seek ways to improve its overall effectiveness and value for money. We work hard to build partnerships that give service users every opportunity to reach their goals and to achieve lasting outcomes for themselves and communities.
