The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Support Worker to join our team in Milton Keynes.

About us

Compass Milton Keynes Young People’s Service provides specialist intervention to young people who are experiencing problems with substance misuse. This is done on a 1-2-1 outreach basis at a variety of venues, including schools and youth centres.

About the role

You will carry a caseload delivering 1-2-1 support at an early intervention level to young people at risk of substance misuse. As part of the role, you will liaise with professionals such as family support workers, the youth offending team and sexual and mental health practitioners.

You will support with the co-facilitation of groups and delivering assemblies in schools, as well as providing drop in’s at youth centres. You will work with partner agencies, such as Thames Valley Police and Integrated Youth Services, to conduct assertive outreach engagement and work on targeted projects.

The role also involves a variety of administrative tasks such as minute taking, managing the client and service databases and preparing statistical information for contract reporting.

The Person

You will have experience of working with young people and be confident in delivering group work interventions. You will also be a proactive team member who is able to work within the boundaries and specifications of a young people’s service, including safeguarding children.

You need to have a full driving licence and access to own transport.

Working hours Mon – Fri, 37 hours per week with some evening and weekend working
