We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Wellbeing Worker to join Compass BUZZ, the School Mental Health and Wellbeing Project in North Yorkshire.
Compass BUZZ works closely with Compass REACH (Risk Taking Behaviour Service) and key partner agencies to identify and support children and young people with mental health concerns and to increase the skills, confidence and competence of frontline staff in schools across North Yorkshire in order to promote a positive mental health culture.
About the role
As a Wellbeing Worker, responsible for approximately 50 schools in the Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale area, your role will be to co-deliver one-to-one interventions and targeted group work to children and young people between the ages of 5 - 18 (25 with SEN) with mild to moderate mental health concerns. You will also facilitate appropriate referrals to specialist services and/or reintegration with universal provision.
About the person
With a relevant qualification in mental health/working with children and young people, you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people and supporting communities to improve health outcomes for families. You will be skilled in engaging professionals via training, coaching and mentoring and able to challenge resistance. You will also have experience of working directly with children and young people with additional needs, using evidence based practice to facilitate sustainable behavioural change.
You will need to possess a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
