Bespoke Substance Misuse Training for Harrow School – June 2018

Compass’ Harrow Young People’s Service has teamed up with Harrow School to deliver a bespoke two day training package which focuses on Substance Misuse within Young People. Harrow School is a unique full boarding school for boys aged 13 -18, therefore the training was tailored to their specific needs and included details of new and emerging trends both locally and nationally.

Delroy E. Ettienne, Service Manager for Compass Harrow Young People’s Services delivered the training to school staff which aimed to increase the skills, knowledge, confidence and competency of staff in recognising and responding to substance misuse amongst young people.  The training was well received and attended by a variety of school staff including the Director of Boarding, Senior Tutor and Headmaster, House Masters, PSHE Coordinator, Tutors, House Doctors and Psychologists.

Staff fed back the training was ‘customisied to our unusual situation’ and ‘highly relevant to our work’.

Compass looks forward to working with Harrow School in the future and plans are already being put in place to build upon the piece of work in the Autumn term.
