Compass Coventry Service for Young People

Compass Coventry offers free and confidential support, advice and treatment services for young people. If you need help to get your life back on track, you can come to us safe in the knowledge that you will be treated fairly and compassionately.

What services do we offer?

We offer two services for different groups of young people:

1. Compass Coventry Services for Young People – supports young people up to the age of 18 who are affected by their own or another person’s substance misuse. As well as helping the individual, we support families and fellow professionals in the wider children’s workforce.

Cheryl; a service user at Coventry, has written and performed a song about her experience with Compass:

2. Compass Aspire – this is a free, personalised service for young people aged up to 16 (or 20 for Looked After Children) who are affected by:

  • Substance misuse
  • Poor sexual health
  • Teenage pregnancy
  • Poor or abusive relationships

Our services help to prevent risks from escalating and requiring greater levels of support at a later stage.

Effective support services for all young people

Our highly skilled specialists will provide practical support, advice, access to related services and real solutions for you, whatever your background, ethnicity or sexual orientation. It’s never too early to come to us for help. If you believe you may be at risk from any of these issues, we can help you avoid problems before they occur.

Working together for a brighter future

We work with a whole range of professionals and organisations who are available to help you. These include the Community Drugs Team, who offer health assessments, needle exchange services, blood borne virus (BBV) screening, vaccinations and prescription services. We also work closely with the Youth Offending Team, Youth Justice Services, hospital A&E departments, school nurses and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to provide comprehensive support and treatment services.

You can come directly to us for help, or you may be referred to us by another service provider if they believe you are at risk and could benefit from our expertise.

About Compass Coventry Service for Young People

Our Young People’s Services for under 18’s and Compass Aspire services for 11-16 year-olds are commissioned by Coventry City Council. The services operate out of a discreet central location, close to partner agencies for young people. We also provide an outreach service through satellite venues across the city.

As well as directly helping young people, we provide support for families and fellow professionals in the wider children’s workforce. We support early interventions, attend three-way meetings and deliver training for frontline staff.
