Everyone Has A Talent
A key worker in Whitby has incorporated positive ways of improving self-worth by supporting and encouraging service users to re-connect to previous hobbies or take up new. Whitby service users have traditionally not engaged in group settings so 1-1 key working sessions have been hugely important in developing therapeutic relationships with service users. Through the sessions Compass employee Vicky Snow has worked with service users including Luke pictured above to develop their interest in a range of diversionary activities. Luke has developed an interest in photography and has used this to support his progress towards achieving a drug free life. A fellow service user has filled time that he believes he would have spent doing nothing, building and painting War Hammer 4000 figures. Both service users are hugely proud of their skills and abilities as they should be and hope that they can inspire others to think about positive ways of spending their time.
