Compass has been selected as one of six Yorkshire and Humber charities to take part in the BBC Academy’s Connect and Create scheme in the region. The BBC Academy encourages and develops BBC staff to take part in voluntary activities. Connect and Create places BBC volunteers with partner agencies to work with their clients, develop programmes, podcasts, etc.

Connect and Create will be working with the Hull Drugs Day Programme, Psychosocial and Aftercare service which was successfully retendered a few months ago. The Psychosocial Service replaces the Forward Day programme and provides a recovery-oriented peer-led approach in partnership with local agencies. BBC volunteers will assist with the delivery of the programme and help to provide a range of exciting media-related activities for clients which will help service users to promote the service to others in the city.
